The world we live in today is very different from the one that existed when URENTEL was established. The globalisation marking recent decades has made the world increasingly competitive where, in order to succeed, a lot of persistence, innovation and diversification are necessary, both in terms of products and services that each company can provide.
The URENTEL’s trajectory was built on the capacity of work, on vision and on strategy, consistently pointing towards to its growth. We have invested in our own facilities and purchased machinery, in a safe and sustainable manner, which have enabled us to strengthen our production capacity.
In this sense, we will make every effort and implement the most correct measures to continue to ensure the satisfaction of our existing and new customers, especially those who we anticipate attracting as the result of our ongoing internationalisation project.
In pursuing these objectives, we will not abdicate from practicing the ethical values that have always characterised us and we will have our teams, a determining factor to implement this strategy.
Finally, we aim to continue to grow and develop new projects and partnerships with renewed will to confront new challenges and transform the obstacles of globalisation into capital gains for the entire organisation..

OUR STORY
URENTEL, Indústrias Têxteis Lda, was founded in November 1990 by the brothers Alberto and Fernando Canário..
Initially, the company had 24 projectile looms and was dedicated to plain fabric manufacturing.
In order to continue its production development, URENTEL made a major investment in 1995. It invested in its own facilities which enabled it to increase its machine park and acquire dobby looms. At that same time, the company began production in 2-colour screens..
In 1998, URENTEL invested in another plant to enable the direct acquisition of a sizing and warping machine, thereby enabling the preparation of its own screens. The company was given the chance to provide more and better services, such as sizing screens and other weavings.
Since 2000, when Mr Fernando Canário left, until now, the company has had a sole managing partner, Mr Alberto Canário.
In 2004, the company invested in air jet looms and also started the production of 4-colour cloth and elastomeric yarns.
Since 2008, we have also been able to manufacture 8-colour cloth with double insertion weave.
In 2012 we invested in a sectional warping machine.
